Creation of Cilices
All cilices are handmade to order, using the material of your choice (aluminium for coloured ones and surgical steel for silver ones). The fastenings are made of cowhide leather and everything is sent in a pretty black box with a magnetic lid bearing the Ekko Creations logo.
I am available to discuss any special requests you may have (alternating colours, lines, etc.), so please do not hesitate to send me a message to create your own personalised cilice.
The origins of Cilice
Historically made from goat or camel hair, the cilice was a garment of penance and voluntary mortification.
The cilice enjoyed its heyday during the golden age of Christianity, even among ordinary lay people living in the world, who used it as a discreet antidote to outward ostentation and comfort in their lives.
The cilice is ideally worn mid-thigh, but can be adapted to different parts of the body (neck, arms, waist, etc.).
Today, it can be a sign of love, devotion, belonging or play, particularly in the BDSM community, or simply an aesthetic accessory that will remind you of itself with every step you take.
How to take your measurements ?
Ideally, take your measurements with a tape measure, in the middle of your thigh and while standing, so that the cilice fits as well as possible once in place. It will naturally tighten when you walk or sit down ;)
